Meet the Philodendron Xanadu, a plant that's as sassy as I am! This plant is all about balance, honey. It needs a little bit of this and a little bit of that to thrive. So, pay attention, 'cause I'm only tellin' you once.
Lighting: This plant loves bright, indirect light. Don't go thinkin' it can handle direct sunlight, 'cause it'll get scorched. East- or west-facing windows are perfect. If you're growin' it outside, find a spot with filtered sunlight.
Watering: Water it when the top inch of soil feels dry. Don't overwater, or you'll end up with root rot. And for goodness' sake, don't underwater it neither! It's like my grandkids, it needs a little attention every now and then.
Humidity: This plant loves a humid environment, but it can adapt to average humidity levels. If you want to give it a little extra love, you can set it on a tray with pebbles and water.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. Don't go for that cheap stuff, or your plant will be swimmin' in water. I like to mix in a little bit of perlite or sand to keep things interesting.
Fertilizer: Feed it with a balanced fertilizer during the growin' season (spring and summer). Don't overfertilize, or you'll burn those pretty leaves. I like to use a water-soluble fertilizer, it's easier on the plant.
Temperature: Keep it between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Don't let it get too cold, or it'll start to drop its leaves. And for Pete's sake, don't put it near a drafty window!
Now, if you follow these instructions, your Philodendron Xanadu will be happy as a clam. And remember, a happy plant is a healthy plant!
